Suisun Pump Station Backup Power Upgrade Project

Latest Update (October 2026):

Beginning the week of November 2nd, 2026, the Contractor (Auburn Constructors, LLC) will begin construction on the Suisun Pump Station Backup Power Upgrade Project. The work includes critical upgrades to the pump station’s backup power system to ensure the station continues to operate reliably during power outages.

Hours of construction will be 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday – Friday.

During construction, odor control equipment will be temporarily disconnected for several days and you may notice increased odors in the area of the pump station. The District will work closely with the Contractor to reconnect and restore the odor control equipment as quickly as possible. While the equipment is offline, the pump station will continue to operate normally. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate the community’s patience while this critical reliability work is completed.

What We’re Doing to Minimize Impacts

  • Minimize time the odor scrubber equipment is offline
  • Advance notice to nearby residents and businesses prior to disconnecting the odor scrubber equipment
  • Mufflers and quieter equipment for noise reduction
  • Traffic control with flaggers and signage
  • On-site worker parking to reduce neighborhood impacts

What to Expect

  • Intermittent odors, construction noise, and increased truck traffic along Civic Center Blvd. during the project
  • Crews working standard daytime hours (after hours only when necessary)
